Hiv / Aids Immigration Ban Essay - 3002 Words
HIV/AIDS Immigration Ban: How the HIV-Positive became People What is HIV/AIDS? HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is a virus that cause initial HIV infection and, as the virus proliferates in the body, AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome). HIV affects the immune system by exploiting, and, eventually, destroying a specific kind of immune cells. That allows for the gradual deterioration of a personââ¬â¢s immune system, which ultimately causes death from minor opportunistic infections, which are normally perfectly curable and generally do not cause major consequences for health. HIV has a limited range of transmission ways. It is only transmitted through the direct contact of body fluids, which include blood, semen, vaginal fluids, and breast milk [1]. This means that most of the modes of transmission include activities that are moralized by society, such as intravenous drug use and sexual contact [1]. However, it can also be transmitted through ââ¬Å"innocent pathwaysâ⬠, such as during breastfeeding (mother to child) and blood transfusion. HIV is a very young, still poorly understood virus. It was first clinically observed in the summer of 1981 in San Francisco, where it was spotted as a type of sarcoma, mostly spotted in the gay population. In the beginning of the global epidemic, there was a huge misunderstanding of the disease [2]. Back then, a general sentiment about HIV was that of a ââ¬Å"rather devastating outbreakâ⬠[2] , associated with homosexuality and drug use (to the pointShow MoreRelatedWhat Is Hiv / Aids?2952 Words à |à 12 PagesWhat is HIV/AIDS? Questions On Allocating Overhead Costs - 1701 Words
Question 1 Allocating overhead costs is one of the important tasks and is necessary to be done by management accountant. One key reason is that in term of pricing strategies, many firms decide their productsââ¬â¢ selling price based on their cost. And the selling price has to cover all the costs and profit. According to Vivian Guo (2012), Cost-plus pricing is the simplest and oldest method of determining price and provide the basis for doing business. For calculating this price we need add together the direct labour cost, direct material cost, selling and administrative costs, and overhead costs for a product. Then we need to add to it a markup percentage (AccountingTools, 2016). The pricing formula is: Total production costs + Selling and administration costs + Markup Number of units expected to sell Therefore, there is no doubt that it is significant to allocate overhead cost accurately for every production. If the overhead is calculated incorrectly, the selling price of the product will change. The company will not cover the cost and make a loss. Some firms in service industries like repair shops and printing shops prefer to use the time and material pricing to decide the price of products. Under this approach, they need to pay attention to the time and material two parts and determine two pricing rates. The rate is decided by the interaction of demand and supply and by competitive industry environment (Seal, W. andShow MoreRelatedThe General Overhead And Construction Projects Essay1510 Words à |à 7 PagesIn the past, the general overhead in construction projects was not important compared to project costs. Management of Risk for Leadership and Ethical- myassignmenthelp
Question: Discuss about the Management of Risk for Leadership and Ethical Practice. Answer: Introduction This report focuses on the leadership practices in light of different bases of power, morals, ethical reasoning and ethical leadership. In this report, Broadcom Limited Company has been taken into consideration. In order to reflect on the leadership, Graham Gibbs (1992) six steps have been followed. Description It is evaluated that the most difficult leadership challenge is related to maintain an ethical climate in organization. Leaders can exert influence over an ethical climate on the basis of virtue of the position they held in company. Broadcom Limited Company is multinational company and more than 15,700 employees. I have worked as an employee over there. In Broadcom Limited Company, there are several leaders who are working in each and every section of organization abusing their position in different way (Day and Miscenko, 2016). Feeling During my employment in that company, I realised that leaders are abusing their power to take personal advantages in the business process system of organization. They give less work to employees who are close to them and more work to them who are having no relation with them. This kind of work practice in allocation of work and leadership style have bad influence over the ethical climate of organization and also result to demotivation among employees. Company may face several issues such as employees disappointment, high cost of production and increased labour turnover. It is observed that leaders should understand the impact of their unethical leadership practice (Zulaihah, 2017). Evaluation After evaluating the case and all the related information, it is inferred that leaders needs to be unbiased with each and every employees. If they take undue advantage of their position then it will not only decrease the business efficiency but also result to high loss of business in long term. A leader in Broadcom Limited Company needs to use ethical leadership skills but also develop an ethical philosophy in the business process system. Nonetheless, these issues and problems could be evaluated by using employees log book, annual report and employees appraisal forms. I realised that this bias leadership style in allocation of work will jeopardise the efficiency of business. Therefore, it is inferred that corrupt and absolute power corrupts the leaders in absolute way if they do not have values and code of working standards. Analysis It is evaluated that a leader needs to create check list and ethical values which they could follow in their leadership style. If they practice bias free leadership style then they could influence employee in more positive way. In process of Broadcom Limited Company, leaders are taking undue advantage of their position and allocating less work to their relatives and more work to other employees. This may result to chaos in the business process at the certain point of time. Nonetheless, it will eventually increase the overall output and efficiency of the business at large. Leaders can influence others if they are admired and liked by other employees. In Broadcom Limit d Company, leaders have neither their own values nor they are consistent with the organizations value (Lichtenstein, et al. 2016). Conclusion It is evaluated that leaders have access to variety of sources and all these sources could be used by them to make their leadership style more ethical and legal. If they follow proper rules and work ethically then employees would be more reliable. Now in the end, it could be inferred that if leaders use unethical business practice then in long run it will surely destruct the value of the organization. Action All the leaders should follow ethical leadership code of conduct. This code of conduct and leadership practice will motivate employees and reduce the labour turnover as well. In addition to this, below given table would also assist leaders to follow proper ethical leadership practice (Uhl-Bien, 2016). Preparation of Ethics and compliance glossary Determine the standards values and ethical program. Formulation of code of conduct Build a culture of integrity Re-evaluation and proper check This above given action plan reflects the procedural check which will assess whether leaders are leading employees ethically in the best interest of organization or not. It is considered that culture of organization should be employees oriented. References Day, D. and Miscenko, D., 2016. Video Game Review Bloodborne Essay Example
Video Game Review Bloodborne Essay My favourite game from the Souls-Bourne series is Bloodborne. It was created by Hidetaka Miyazaki who oversaw the full development of the game and was the one behind a lot of its ideas. It was a difficult undertaking for Miyazaki given From-Software had not made a complete title game in a style like this before. It is a game with, Victorian gothic architecture and clothing for all the locations. The game features your character coming to a city that has been affected by a blood plague that has begun to turn the inhabitants of the city into mindless were-wolves. The people of this land have used blood to heal but also to strengthen warriors who would fight the beasts. That is the story the opening cut-scene tells you. The From-Software games have always had a unique way of storytelling. The lore of the world is hidden in the descriptions of different weapons and outfits as the story we are given is just a small part of the world. Although It seems that it is just a typical story of a hero who journeys to a land and saves everyone he meets, but that is truly not the case with this game. The story has more layers to it than what is first thought to have had as it begins to show that there is a growing presence of the Great Ones, the Lovecraftian beings that remain a threat for a lot of the game until you finally defeat one. It has always been the combat system that could make or break a game. Thankfully Bloodborne has an excellent combat system that differs quite a bit from their other titles as the pace is much faster in this game. Unlike other Souls-Bourne titles instead of holding a large array of weapons, the game sticks to a close and tight knit selection of twenty-six trick weapons that have an ability to change in some way. Take the Saw Clever for example it changes from a close-range weapon with diagonal slashes to a mid-range blade that solely hi
